How to Bake Perfect Hot Cross Buns

Ingredient:

  • 150ml Milk  (Lukewarm)

  • 7g Instant Dry Yeast

  • 30g Sugar

  • 1 Egg

  • 320g Strong white bread flour, plus extra for dusting

  • 30g Soft Unsalted Butter

  • 2g Salt

  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg

  • 110g Raisins


  • For the
    Cross:
  • 30g Plain flour

  • 40ml Water

Directions

  • Pour lukewarm milk into a bowl
  • Add instant dry yeast, sugar, salt and egg
  • Add Cinnamon and Nutmeg
  • Mix in about 1/2 of the bread flour
  • Add the remaining bread flour
  • Add Raisins. Mix to form a dough
  • Knead in soft butter
  • Dust work surface with flour
  • Knead dough for 8 – 10 minutes on a work surface until more elastic and smooth
  • Divide dough into eight and round into balls
  • Cover with a tea towel and allow to proof for 60 minutes
  • For piping the cross. Mix flour and water
  • Egg wash and pipe cross on bun
  • Bake in a Air fryer at 175°C for 20 – 25 minutes
  • Ready. Allow to cool and serve. ENJOY!
