minutesHow to Bake Perfect Hot Cross Buns
Ingredient:
150ml Milk (Lukewarm)
7g Instant Dry Yeast
30g Sugar
1 Egg
320g Strong white bread flour, plus extra for dusting
30g Soft Unsalted Butter
2g Salt
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
110g Raisins
For the Cross:30g Plain flour
40ml Water
Directions
- Pour lukewarm milk into a bowl
- Add instant dry yeast, sugar, salt and egg
- Add Cinnamon and Nutmeg
- Mix in about 1/2 of the bread flour
- Add the remaining bread flour
- Add Raisins. Mix to form a dough
- Knead in soft butter
- Dust work surface with flour
- Knead dough for 8 – 10 minutes on a work surface until more elastic and smooth
- Divide dough into eight and round into balls
- Cover with a tea towel and allow to proof for 60 minutes
- For piping the cross. Mix flour and water
- Egg wash and pipe cross on bun
- Bake in a Air fryer at 175°C for 20 – 25 minutes
- Ready. Allow to cool and serve. ENJOY!
