🧑‍🍳 The Recipe: Flaxseed Bread

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F / 45°C)

  • 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast

  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 ¾ cups whole wheat flour

  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)

  • ½ cup ground flaxseed (flaxseed meal)

  • ½ tsp salt

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  • In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, olive oil and honey
  • Mix in whole wheat flour and ground flaxseed.
  • Add all-purpose flour and salt. Mix until a sticky dough forms. You can use a spoon or your hands
  • Cover the bowl with a towel or plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 to 1½ hours, or until doubled in size.
  • Transfer it into a greased loaf pan
  • Smooth with a spoon dip in water
  • Let it rise for another 30–40 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden brown
  • Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing
