Ingredient
500g Ground beef
1 Medium Onions (Chopped)
2 Carrot (Chopped)
2 Cloves of Garlic (Diced)
2 Potatoes (Chopped)
1 Tablespoon Oil
Black pepper and Stock cubes to Taste
3 Cup Plain flour
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
100g Cold Butter (Chopped)
1 Cup Cold Milk
Egg Wash
Directions
- Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Add onion, carrot and garlic. Cook gently for 5 minutes.
- Add ground beef, season and cook for about 5 minutes until brown.
- Add potato and water. Cover simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Pie filling is ready. Allow to cool.
- Add salt and butter to plain flour. Mix with fingertips until it look like breadcrumbs.
- Add milk. Mix to for a dough.
- Wrap with cling film and keep in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Dust work surface with little flour. Rollout dough. Cut out Heart shapes.
- To assemble pie. Brush water on edges of one pastry heart, add filling and cover with another pastry heart.
- Brush with egg wash. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for 20-25 minutes.
- Ready. Allow to cool for 5 to 10 minutes, then serve.
