Easy Homemade Star Bread Recipe

150ml Milk (Lukewarm)
7g Instant Dry Yeast
30g Sugar
1 Egg
320g Strong white bread flour, plus extra for dusting
30g Soft Unsalted Butter
2g Salt
Filling:10g Soft Unsalted Butter
30g Sugar
1 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon powder
Directions
- Pour lukewarm milk into a bowl
- Add instant dry yeast, sugar, salt and egg
- Add about 1/2 of the bread flour
- Add the remaining bread flour
- Mix to form a dough
- Knead in soft butter
- Knead dough for 8 – 10 minutes on a work surface until more elastic and smooth
- Divide dough into four and round into balls
- Mix sugar and cinnamon
- Roll out all four dough balls into about the same size circle
- Brush butter over the surface of one of the rolled out dough
- Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon mix on the dough
- Place a second rolled out dough on the top of the first
- Repeat the process for 2nd and 3rd rolled out dough while stacking them together
- Place 4th rolled out dough
- Roll out stacked dough a little more to ensure it sticks together
- Place a small round cup at the center
- Cut circle dough into quarters without cutting the center
- Cut each quarter into four
- Twist two pieces three times away from each other, pinch the edge together and stretch out the point
- Cover with a tea towel and allow to proof for 60 minutes
- Egg wash star bread. Bake in a Air fryer at 175°C for 20 – 25 minutes
