Christmas Swirl Bread Recipe

150ml Milk (Lukewarm)
7g Instant Dry Yeast
30g Sugar
1 Egg
300g Strong white bread flour, plus extra for dusting
30g Soft Unsalted Butter
2g Salt
5ml Fresh Milk
Red and Green Color paste
Directions
- Pour lukewarm milk into a bowl
- Add Instant dry yeast. Stir the milk and yeast
- Mix in the egg and sugar
- Add about 1/2 of Bread flour and mix to incorporate flour
- Add the remaining bread flour
- Mix to form a dough. Knead in soft butter and salt
- Dust work surface with little flour
- Knead dough for 8 – 10 minutes until more elastic and smooth
- Divide dough into four. Round 2 parts of the dough into balls
- Mix in red color paste into 3rd part and round into a ball
- Mix in green color paste into last part and round into a ball
- Roll out all four dough balls into about the same size
- Start with the normal rolled out dough
- Brush with fresh milk. Place the green dough on the top
- Brush with fresh milk. Place 2nd normal dough on the top
- Brush with fresh milk. Place the red dough on the top
- Roll out dough a little more to ensure it sticks together
- Cut 8 strips 3/4 way into rolled out dough. Twist dough strips
- Roll dough from the uncut end into the strips
- place in a loaf pan lightly greased with butter
- Cover with a tea towel and allow to proof for 60 minutes
- Bake in a Air fryer at 175°C for 20 – 25 minutes
- Ready. Allow to cool and serve. ENJOY!
